  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Enough flour to form a dough

For the Filling:

  • 200g ground meat
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beetroot Dough:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the beetroot juice, egg, and salt.
    • Gradually add flour while mixing until you form a smooth, non-sticky dough.
    • Cover the dough and let it rest.
  2. Prepare the Plain Dough:
    • In another mixing bowl, combine the water, egg, and salt.
    • Gradually add flour while mixing until you form a smooth, non-sticky dough.
    • Cover the dough and let it rest.
  3. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a bowl, combine the ground meat, finely chopped onions, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  4. Roll Out the Dough:
    • On a floured surface, roll out both the beetroot dough and the plain dough into thin sheets.
    • Cut both doughs into circles using a dough cutter or a glass.
  5. Assemble the Rose Mantı:
    • Place a small amount of the meat filling in the center of each dough circle.
    • Fold the dough circles in half, then roll them up to create a rose shape.
    • Place the shaped mantı on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  6. Cook the Mantı:
    • You can either bake or boil the mantı. For baking, preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for about 20 minutes until the dough is cooked and slightly golden. For boiling, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the mantı until they float to the surface, about 5-7 minutes.
