  • 1.5 cups milk (300 ml)
  • 75 grams butter
  • 4-5 cups all-purpose flour (500 grams)
  • 1 packet dry yeast or 1 cube fresh yeast
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract)
  • 1 egg
  • A pinch of salt

For the Filling:

  • 100 grams softened butter
  • 5 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 heaping teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar together. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a saucepan, gently heat the milk and melt the butter in it. The milk should be warm but not boiling.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, granulated sugar, vanilla sugar, and egg. Gradually add the warm milk and butter mixture while kneading the dough. Add a pinch of salt as you knead.
