Chocolate Brownies with Hot Fudge Sauce

Ingredients:

For the Brownies:

  • Unsweetened chocolate, chopped (4 oz)
  • Unsalted butter (12 tbsp, plus extra for greasing)
  • Sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
  • Granulated sugar (½ cup)
  • Dark brown sugar, packed (¼ cup)
  • Vanilla extract (2 ½ tsp)
  • Eggs (2, room temp)
  • Egg yolk (1, room temp)
  • All-purpose flour (½ cup)
  • Cocoa powder (¼ cup)
  • Salt (½ tsp)
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips (⅓ cup)

For the Hot Fudge Sauce:

  • Sweetened condensed milk (⅓ cup)
  • Butter (1 tbsp)
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips (¼ cup)
  • Vanilla extract (¼ tsp)

Instructions:

  1. Brownie Preparation:
    1. Grease an 8x8 square pan with butter. Line with parchment paper (leaving overhangs on two sides) and butter the paper.
    2. Over medium heat, melt the butter and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan. Stir until butter melts, then remove from heat.
    3. Stir in the unsweetened chocolate until it's melted. Allow it to cool slightly.
    4. Preheat oven to 350°F.
    5. In a mixing bowl, beat the sugars, eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla on medium-high for 3 mins.
    6. Mix the butter-chocolate mixture into the egg mixture. Sift in cocoa powder, salt, and flour, mixing until just combined.
    7. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake for 25-30 mins. Once done, let it cool in the pan.
  2. Hot Fudge Sauce:
    1. Melt butter and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan over medium heat.
    2. Add chocolate chips and stir until melted, then remove from heat.
    3. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  3. Drizzle or spread the warm sauce over the cooled brownies. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
