Equipment Needed
To make these delicious Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars, you will need the following equipment:
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon or spatula
- Baking dish or pan
- Microwave-safe bowl or double boiler for melting chocolate
- Refrigerator
Ingredients:
For the Bars:
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/3 cup agave or maple syrup
- 1 tsp coconut oil (optional)
- 1 tsp almond, coconut, or oat flour
- 60g (2 scoops) chocolate protein powder
For the Topping:
- 50-75g dark chocolate chips (non-dairy and refined sugar-free), melted
- 1-2 tbsp peanut butter
Instructions:
- Prepare the Base:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, agave or maple syrup, and optional coconut oil. Mix well.
- Add the almond, coconut, or oat flour and the chocolate protein powder. Stir until everything is well combined and forms a thick batter.
- Shape the Bars:
- Line a baking dish or pan with parchment paper. Press the mixture firmly into the dish, spreading it evenly to form the base layer.
- Melt the Chocolate:
- In a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate chips until smooth.
- Top the Bars:
- Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter base, spreading it evenly. Drizzle the additional peanut butter over the top for extra flavor and decoration.
- Set and Serve:
- Place the dish in the refrigerator and let it set for at least 1-2 hours or until firm.
- Once set, remove from the dish and cut into bars.
