Ingredients:

For the Blueberry Filling:

  • 400g frozen blueberries
  • 85g sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

For the Cream Cheese Icing:

  • 200g cream cheese
  • 150g powdered sugar
  • 50g butter
  • 2-3 tbsp blueberry filling

For the Dough:

  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 250ml lukewarm whole milk
  • 1 egg
  • 135g butter (room temperature)
  • 25g fresh yeast or 7g dry yeast (ensure it blooms first)
  • 70g sugar
  • A pinch of salt

Dough Instructions:

  1. Dissolve the yeast in a bowl with lukewarm milk and stir until fully dissolved.
  2. Add the eggs, sugar, and salt to the yeast mixture and stir again.
  3. With the dough hook attached to your kitchen machine, knead the dough on medium speed for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the room-temperature butter and increase the speed, mixing for 9 minutes on high until you achieve a stable dough.
  5. Knead it a few times with some additional flour, then let it rise for an hour in a warm spot.

Assembling the Blueberry Rolls:

  1. Roll the dough into a 40x35cm (approximately) rectangle on a floured surface.
  2. Spread out the cooled-down blueberry filling evenly over the dough.
  3. Roll up the dough to form a log.
  4. Cut the log into 12-14 even buns.
  5. Arrange the buns in a deep oven tray, leaving 3-4cm of space between them.
  6. Cover the tray with plastic foil and a dish towel, allowing the buns to rise for 45 minutes.
  7. Bake at 200°C (fan only) for approximately 20 minutes. To prevent the tops from browning too quickly, cover the tray with foil after 15 minutes of baking.
  8. Let the rolls cool before generously spreading on the creamy cream cheese frosting.
  9. Enjoy these irresistible blueberry rolls! 🫐
