  • Whisk
  • Dough cutter or glass
  • Small bottle cap or doughnut cutter (for the hole)
  • Rolling pin
  • Kitchen towel
  • Deep frying pan
  • Slotted spoon
  • Double boiler or microwave (for melting chocolate)
  • Cooling rack

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 1 tea glass (about 100ml) warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 packet instant dry yeast
  • 1/2 tea glass (about 50ml) warm water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2.5 to 3 cups flour (add gradually)

For the Topping:

  • 80g (1 packet) melted chocolate
  • Colorful sprinkles, white chocolate, shredded coconut, etc.

Instructions:

  1. Activate the Yeast:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and instant dry yeast. Stir to mix.
    • Cover the bowl with a lid or a plate and let it sit for 5-6 minutes until the yeast becomes frothy and active.
  2. Prepare the Dough:
    • Add the vegetable oil, salt, warm water, and egg to the activated yeast mixture. Stir to combine.
    • Gradually add the flour, mixing continuously until a non-sticky dough forms.
    • Knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  3. Shape the Donuts:
    • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness.
    • Use a dough cutter or a glass to cut out round shapes. Use a small bottle cap or a doughnut cutter to cut out the center hole.
    • Place the shaped dough on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
  4. Fry the Donuts:
    • Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
    • Carefully place the donuts in the hot oil, frying them in batches until they are golden brown on both sides.
    • Remove the donuts with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
    • Don’t forget to fry the small dough circles from the centers as well!
  5. Decorate the Donuts:
    • Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
    • Dip the cooled donuts into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off.
    • Decorate with colorful sprinkles, white chocolate drizzles, or shredded coconut as desired.
  6. Serve:
    • Allow the chocolate to set before serving the donuts. Enjoy these delicious homemade treats with family and friends.
