  • 500g flour
  • 25g fresh yeast
  • 150g water (¾ cup)
  • 100g sugar (½ cup)
  • 1 egg
  • 100ml sour cream (1 small container)
  • 50g cold butter, cut into cubes
  • 1 tsp salt

Ingredients for Filling:

  • 3 egg whites
  • 150g sugar (¾ cup)
  • 1 packet vanilla pudding mix
  • 200g Nutella spread

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a mixer bowl, combine water, yeast, sugar, sour cream, egg, flour, and salt. Mix on medium speed for 3 minutes.
    • Increase speed and gradually add butter, continuing to knead for about 8 minutes.
    • Transfer dough to a greased bowl and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • Just before the dough is ready, in a mixer with a whisk attachment, place egg whites and whip until foamy. Gradually add sugar until you get a fluffy and stable meringue. Finally, incorporate the pudding mix.
  3. Assemble and Bake:
    • Divide the dough into two parts.
    • Roll out each part into a thin rectangle, spread Nutella, and then spread the meringue on top.
    • Roll up the dough from the longer side, and cut into equal-sized swirls.
    • Place swirls in a lined baking tray, let them rise for about 25 minutes.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 35 minutes or until golden brown.
    • Optional: Glaze with sugar syrup. Enjoy!
