Pumpkin Spice Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe Card

A wonderfully soft and cakey cookie with a rich blend of pumpkin spice and a creamy, tangy cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients
  

For the cookies

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup pumpkin purée

For the frosting

  • 4 oz cream cheese at room temp
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Cream butter and sugars for 3 minutes. Mix in pumpkin purée and vanilla.
  • Fold in dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and spices) until dough forms.
  • Shape and bake: Roll dough into balls (2 Tbsp each), flatten, and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Make frosting: Cream cream cheese and butter. Add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  • Frost and store: Once cookies are completely cool, frost and sprinkle with cinnamon. Store in the fridge.
