Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Makes 5-6 large cookies or 8-10 medium-sized cookies.

Ingredients:

  • 120g Butter
  • 100g Light Brown Sugar
  • 100g Granulated Sugar
  • 225g All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 50g Milk, room temperature (any kind)
  • 100g Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 80g Dark Chocolate Chunks

Method:

  1. In a pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir occasionally, and watch as it begins to foam and bubble. Continue whisking until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma. Once browned, remove from the heat, transfer to a bowl, and allow it to cool for 15-20 minutes at room temperature.
  2. Once the butter has cooled, add both the light brown and granulated sugars. Whisk until the mixture becomes creamy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add milk and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture, and stir well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add these dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until you form a smooth dough.
  5. Fold in the milk chocolate chips and dark chocolate chunks until evenly distributed.
  6. Using an ice cream scoop or spoon, place rounds of cookie dough onto a tray lined with baking paper. For best results, chill the dough for 1-2 hours in the refrigerator before baking.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the chilled cookie dough for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden.
  8. While the cookies are still warm, press additional chocolate chips into the tops for a bakery-style finish.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool slightly on the tray before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve up these brown butter wonders and watch them disappear in a heartbeat. Enjoy your baking! 🍪🍫
