Dive into the rich, nutty flavors of these brown butter cookie bars, each bite packed with a delightful combination of milk and dark chocolate chunks. No need to wait for chilling; this recipe is a swift route to a heavenly treat.

Ingredients:

  • 120g Butter
  • 100g Light Brown Sugar
  • 100g Granulated Sugar
  • 225g All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 50g Milk (room temperature, any kind)
  • 100g Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 80g Dark Chocolate Chunks

Instructions:

  1. In a pot, melt the butter over medium heat. As it starts to boil, stir occasionally. The butter will foam and bubble up. Keep whisking until it becomes golden brown with a nutty aroma. Then, take it off the heat and pour it into a bowl to cool for about 15-20 minutes at room temperature.
  2. Once the brown butter has cooled, add both the light brown sugar and granulated sugar. Whisk them together until the mixture is creamy, which should take about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract into the butter and sugar mixture until well incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix these dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a smooth dough forms.
  5. Fold in the milk chocolate chips and dark chocolate chunks until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Preheat your oven to 335°F (170°C). Line a small rectangular tray (approximately 10x8 inches) with baking paper.
  7. Transfer the cookie dough onto the tray and spread it out evenly. Press a few additional chocolate chunks on top for a generous chocolatey finish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. The edges will rise slightly, which is perfectly normal.
  9. Once baked, remove from the oven and let the cookie bar cool slightly before slicing.

Enjoy the decadent blend of brown butter and melted chocolate in every chewy, irresistible square! 🍫
