Oreo Thins Creamy Layered Delight

Excitingly, this recipe pairs seamlessly with Oreo Thins for those who desire a lighter wafer texture but the same indulgent flavor. Dive into layers of whipped cream sandwiched between crisp wafers, culminating in a luscious, creamy dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve of Nabisco chocolate wafers or a package of Oreo Thins
  • 3 cups cold, full-fat heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
  • Chocolate shavings, to garnish

Procedure

  1. Prep Work: Put a mixing bowl, preferably metallic, in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes. This chills the bowl, ensuring that your ingredients remain cool during mixing.
  2. Whipping the Cream:
    1. Retrieve the cold bowl and attach it to your stand mixer, fitting it with the whisk attachment. Alternatively, you can use a hand mixer.
    2. Combine heavy cream, confectioners’ sugar, and vanilla in the bowl.
    3. Begin whipping the mixture on low speed for approximately 10-20 seconds, just to combine the ingredients.
    4. Ramp up the speed to medium-high and continue to whip for around 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until the cream forms medium-soft peaks and the whisk starts creating visible trails in the mixture.
  3. Layering the Delight:
    1. Sandwich a dollop of whipped cream between two chocolate wafers or Oreo Thins.
    2. Proceed to stack the wafers, ensuring each has its generous share of whipped cream. Once you’ve stacked about 12 wafers, smear a thin layer of whipped cream on your serving platter. Gently lay the wafer stack on its side onto the platter.
    3. Continue this process twice more, placing each new log adjacent to the previous one. Once completed, envelope the whole structure in whipped cream, ensuring the top and sides are covered.
  4. Set and Serve: Cover your creation loosely with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of 6 hours, although letting it sit overnight is ideal. When ready to serve, sprinkle with chocolate shavings, slice into portions, and delight in its creamy goodness.
