  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate drops

  • 3 cups whipped cream
  • 4 packets whipped cream stabilizer
  • 1-2 ripe bananas

For the Topping:

  • 3.5 ounces dark chocolate
  • A little less than 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1-2 whole bananas for layering
  • White chocolate shavings and banana slices for decoration

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F) with the fan setting. Cream butter and sugar in a bowl until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, blending well after each.
  2. Mix flour, cocoa, and baking powder. Alternately add this to the butter mixture with the milk. Fold in vanilla and chocolate drops.
  3. Pour into an 18cm cake tin and bake for 20-25 minutes. Let cool and slice into three layers.
  4. For the filling, whip the cream with stabilizer. Cut one of the bananas in half and place on the bottom cake layer. Cover with cream and add the next layer. Repeat and top with the final layer.
  5. Frost the cake with the remaining cream and chill in the fridge until firm.

For the Chocolate Glaze:

  1. Heat the cream and butter without boiling. Pour over the chocolate pieces. Stir until smooth and let cool.
  2. Pour the cooled chocolate glaze over the chilled cake, creating a drip effect.
  3. Decorate with banana slices and white chocolate shavings.
