Chocolate-Coated Cookie Dough Hearts

Delight in these adorable cookie dough hearts enrobed in rich, semi-sweet chocolate—a delectable treat for cookie dough lovers, perfect for special occasions or just to indulge a sweet tooth.

Ingredients:

For the Chocolate Coating:

  • 250g semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 ½ c.)
  • 1 tsp. vegetable oil

For the Cookie Dough:

  • 90g all-purpose flour (¾ c.)
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 85g unsalted butter, room temperature (¼ c. + 2 tbsp.)
  • 110g light brown sugar (½ c.)
  • 1 tbsp. milk
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • 90g mini chocolate chips (½ c.)

Instructions:

  1. Chocolate Coating:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second spurts, ensuring you stir after each interval until smooth. Blend in the vegetable oil.
    • Using a brush or spoon, coat your heart molds with the melted chocolate, ensuring all sides are covered. Place them in the freezer to firm up as you prepare the cookie dough.
  2. Cookie Dough:
    • Heat Treat Flour: Spread the flour on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, checking the temperature until it reaches 165°C (74°C). For oven users, preheat to 350°F (175°C) and bake the flour until the desired temperature is attained. Once done, let it cool for 10 minutes.
    • Using a stand mixer (with a paddle attachment) or a hand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until it’s light and fluffy, which should take around 3 minutes.
    • Introduce the milk and vanilla to the mixture, blending until they’re fully incorporated.
    • Gradually fold in the cooled flour and salt, ensuring not to overmix. Once nearly combined, introduce the mini chocolate chips, folding until evenly distributed.
    • Retrieve the heart molds from the freezer. Spoon roughly 1 tablespoon of the cookie dough into each mold, pressing down to ensure it’s densely packed.
    • Finish each mold with a layer of your melted chocolate, making sure the cookie dough is completely encased.
    • Transfer the molds back to the freezer until they’re set and firm.
  3. Final Touch:
    • Once set, gently demold the cookie dough hearts. For an added touch of elegance, drizzle with additional melted chocolate and sprinkle with rose petals (optional).

Serve immediately for a melt-in-your-mouth experience or store in a cool place for later indulgence. Enjoy this sweet expression of love!
